Ronaldo shows off his toned muscles, ready to explode with Ten Hag

So far, the Man United superstar has never lost much form in his career and this is certainly not changing anytime soon. The latest pictures of Ronaldo prove he is continuing to work hard during the post-season break. CR7 captioned the photo quite simply with the words: “Feel good”.

When the leagues return, the 37-year-old will start his second season since returning to the Old Trafford team. The first season did not go according to plan as it ended as a rare titleless season for Ronaldo.

However, this time, new coach Erik ten Hag will take over and is looking to steer Man United back to success. The Dutchman has started work after leaving his previous club Ajax and is gearing up for what will be a fantastic season for the Premier League giants.

Man United will have ambitions to finish in the top four and to do that, they are likely to strengthen their squad looking to improve last season’s sixth place finish.

As well as changing the way the team plays, Ten Hag will be tasked with choosing a captain who can share his methods and be influential to bridge the gap between the coaching staff and the players.

Harry Maguire is currently captain, while Ronaldo is also linked with the role. However, according to former Liverpool player Danny Murphy, Ten Hag could be better served than handing over the responsibility to a new face.

“This is a very important decision for Man United to move forward and not one that should be taken lightly,” Murphy said. “I certainly don’t think it’s something that should be left to the players to vote for themselves.”

“What he can do is leave it as it is and give himself time to make the right decisions. My feeling is that sometimes the best thing to do for a new coach is give the armband. manager for a player he knows and trusts.”

When asked if Donny Van de Beek, Ten Hag’s former Ajax star, could be a competitive candidate, Murphy insisted: “Someone he brought in from the outside. Van de Beek was there and he hasn’t played enough so that would be a bit absurd, but a new manager should have a new captain he feels is the best fit.”
